If you haven’t heard yet, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are having their moment in the science spotlight, thanks to being the subject of the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Here’s one example of a superhydrophobic MOF, UiO-66, that scientists were able to synthesize from clothing waste at room temperature and with eco-friendly solvents.
